Kosmos Chimney

Postby Peter Stinson on Sun Feb 14, 2010 3:07 am

Sitting hear staring at my new Kosmos and the thought crossed my mind, Why are the chimneys for the smaller Kosmos burners constricted? I guess without a flame spreader you can't spread the flame out to get maximum area to burn but why turn the flame inward?.
Guess I have too much time on my hands

Hello Peter,

the chimneys of kosmos-burner are constricted to make the flame as long as posible without smoke.

They make light with a long, not with a wide flame.

Is this the flame height you normally burn ? I tend to be much lower than that. Doesn't such a long flame crack the chimney? I think I have been burning mine far too low!

Hello Peter,

the chimney is made for such flames.

Turn the wick slowly up and there will be no problems.
